Each week I collect my random reflections, thoughts, and observations on leading, learning, and the church from my week and the weekend’s 4 services. There is no rhyme or reason, it is simply what was on my mind from my previous week…. I call it Pastor Leadership Notebook.
The Leader is a Builder
The opposite is to destroy and neutral leads to decay and neglect. The true leader is always a builder.
Creatives and Trust
I am always more likely to seek someone I trust and let them be creative, than I am to seek someone who is creative, but I am not sure I trust. Creativity is an amazing gift and very powerful. But trust is a gift I give to another…and because I give it, it is even more powerful.
You may be creative, but if you haven’t earned my trust, the creativity is just “potential creativity.” It is earned trust that moves to it “actual creativity.”
-Courage comes before clarity.
-Even the Atheist worships the idols of success, fame, beauty, power. You may call yourself an Atheist…but you are still and idolator like the rest of us. We all find things to worship in place of God.
-Just because God has asked you to lay on your left side for 390 days, does not mean He won’t ask you to roll over and lay on your right for 40 more. (Ezekiel 4:4-7)
-Great challenges accompany great opportunities and create great leaders.
-A mentor fights for you…while fighting next to you.
