“Followership is the beginning – and end – of effective leadership!” Dr.Timothy S. Laniak
Leaders love first. Leaders trust first
“I Don’t Know” Leadership
I am a blessed man. I have the honor of serving and working alongside some of the most amazing volunteer servant leaders that anyone could ask for.
I am amazed at how much they do without me knowing. They see the need, work together, and then meet the need and get it done.
They meet without me. They plan without me. They make decisions without me. They communicate directly with each other and our members without me.
We operate according something we call the “Connect-the-dots” principle. My leaders are always connecting-the-dots without me.
I admit it. I often don’t know what they are doing….and that is why it works.
Wounds The Heal
It is only In HIs wounded hands…that your wounds are truly handled.
The only wounds you will ever see in Heaven are the wounds on Jesus.
When it comes to our growth as followers of Jesus…standing still usually leads to falling back.
When it comes to our growth as leaders…standing still usually leads to falling back.
A foundation is a strong beginning, not an end. A foundation is not the building..it’s for building on. Don’t hold on…move on.
“Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God…” Hebrews 6:1
Each week I collect my random reflections, thoughts, and observations on leading, learning, and the church from my week and the weekend’s 4 services. There is no rhyme or reason, it is simply what was on my mind from my previous week…. I call it Pastor Leadership Notebook.
